Summary/Abstract: When it comes to the archives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, there is no doubt that the archives, as most directly responsible institutions have the task in every way to try to continue to adequately preserve, protect, represent and affirm the archives - the cultural heritage they possess. It would certainly be good if all archival material in our country could be declared as a national monument, and because that’s what it is, in all characteristics. For archival institutions and archival staff the greatest responsibility is to find the best course of action in this direction, and of course it is always better on a joint and concerted level, because then provides the best way to ensure the respect of professional principles in the archival profession. Agreement and compliance with modern technical principles adopted in the legislative framework would be an ideal step forward for the archival profession in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Therefore, the archives must seek ways to achieve better cooperation with partners in government in order to thus achieve better results in their work, and that the structure of government in our country must be better attuned to the problems that plague the archival service of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the overall process of European integration issues and archives division of archives and the protection of archival material should not be circumvented, especially because it is an integral part of the cultural heritage of the country.
