Summary/Abstract: Niklas Luhmann describing the functional modern society showed that the same man dependingon the communicative situation and his location in the society could act either as a person,or as a individual, or as a subject. As a person when he writes about his location in the specificfunctional system. This auto-description is a career. As an individual when he writes about hisexclusion from the majority of functional systems, about his uniqueness. This auto-descriptionis an autobiography. As the subject when he writes about the universality of exclusion, which isequivalent to a repeated inclusion. So arises confession.
