TRADUIRE PABLO PICASSO, UNE VRAIE PROVOCATION

Summary/Abstract: A Romanian reader who wants to know the Pablo Picasso’s literary works is unlikely to find them, although it is known that, in a relatively short period, Picasso wrote over 400 poems. In 1941, he wrote his first play, Le Désir attrapé par la queue, followed by Les Quatre Petites Filles (1968) and L’Enterrement du comte d’Orgaz (1978). Being considered abstract and devoid of any logic, Les Quatre Petites Filles, a play in six acts, untranslated in Romanian, it is the author's vision of reality, who tried to regain the purity of childhood in his drawings, but continued to do it and with colorful words, sometimes violent, to transpose it into his own vision of the world.The confrontation between Picasso's perception on the world and the reader's perception is really fascinating because somebody’s reality will never be the reality of others, and what is objective becomes subjective to others. Our concern is to show the public Les Quatre Petites Filles (Gallimard, "Blanche" Collection, Paris, 1968), the translation of which I encountered a lot of difficulties. This study makes known some difficult issues on translation, at the same time, knowing the dramatic opera of this "complete artist", who said: "In fact, I think I'm a poet who missed his way."
