Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to outline the key concepts of philosophical examination of fiction. Exploring the world of fiction is related with two main philosophical problems, namely the ontological and epistemological status of fiction. The topic of fiction is related to Meinong’s theory of objects and also Searle’s theory of speech acts. Both of these theories explore the nature of fictitious statements and their role in our understanding. The answer to the question „what exists“ is heading to the problem of existence itself.
