Summary/Abstract: The aim of this investigation is to analyze the interconnections of coping their stress styles and emotional intelligence peculiarities and their interconnections from full family’s teenagers and incomplete family’s teenagers. Two methods were applied: Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations - form for teenagers and youth (CISS - Adolescent by Norman S. Endler & James D. A. Parker - 1999) and BarOn EQ-i: Youth version (Reuven Bar-On and James D. A. Parker, BarOn Emotional Quotient Inventory: Youth Version, 2000). 200 teenagers of age between 13 to 18 years from Vilnius schools participated in the research. Results show that there are many differences in choosing stress coping strategy and EQ in full and incomplete families: a) According to statistics teenagers from full families use much more strategies of social diversion-oriented coping; b) EQ adaptability is higher in full families; c) The usage of different stress coping strategies of teenagers from full families additionally is connected with EQ: Task-oriented Coping strategy connected with Positive Impression EQ, Avoidance oriented Coping strategy connected with Total EQ, Social diversion-oriented coping strategy connected with General Mood EQ. The results obtained allow us to predict what strategies are going to be used by a teenager in stress situation. School could teach teenagers from full and incomplete families to use rational stress coping strategies in order for teenagers to become free, responsible, flexible personalities.
