Summary/Abstract: The Church’s mission is to return man to communion with God. The individual ministry, through the confession sacrament, highlights the uniqueness of a person. The mission that a priest hasthrough the confession sacrament is not limited only to the act itself, but extends on a longer period by the personal canon that the parishionerreceives, by the direct relationship that he permanently has, through the Church, with the confessor priest. This direct and permanent relationshipinvolves a continous fight with the sin, and, in the same time a change ofthe man. Taking into consideration all the above, it can be noticed that the priest’s mission is a confessional one.
