Summary/Abstract: “The decades gone past have proved: Hungarian theatre-makers were not able to find the key to Péter Nádas’s theatrical works either then, or later.” Péter Nádas is one of the most important, internationally renowned authors of contemporary Hungarian literature. The journal Jelenkor published a special issue for his sixtieth birthday. The study analyses Nádas’s plays, recalling the performances and their reception.
