Summary/Abstract: We used in the title of this study two concepts belonging to different areas of specialty: a. semantic and semiotic analysis of a literary text and b. translation of a literary text. We have detailed and divided these areas into subcategories, thus indicating once again the complexity of the translation process and the implications thereof. That is because, starting in our scientific approach with a particular case, a Romanian translation of a literary piece written in French, we have related to various theoretical aspects referring to the context of translation in general, the kind of text to be translated, the profile of the translator, the translation procedures, etc. The interdependence of the two different specialty areas previously mentioned is actually manifested in almost any kind of translation, since any document to be translated is first subjected to one or more readings (tracks) (except for some aspects of the oral consecutive and simultaneous translation). We particularly highlighted the significant role of semiotic interpretation because dealing with a text (a fragment in this case) with high exotic dominant cultural perspective.
