Summary/Abstract: The problems of modern Polish families connected with the decade of membership in the European Union are linked, among other things, with the unprecedented scale of migration of whole families or individual family members abroad. One example of this migration are Poles leaving to work, and often settle, in Norway. This process interests Polish and Norwegian scientists alike. It is not unimportant that this type of migration strongly affects the financial status and inner workings of said families in both Norway and in Poland. The aim of this work is to describe the situation of those families and introduce to the readers the initial results of studies concerning Poles working in Norway, and the impact of the Norwegian job market and social policy on the inner workings of both Polish families in Poland and Norway.
