Summary/Abstract: The article constitutes the first comprehensive biography of Bohdan Janusz (1887- 1930), the author of studies about the Lvov Armenians and the one who collected archive materials associated with those people. The article is based on Janusz’s correspondence, the documentation of his professional career and family reminiscences. It analyses all directions his work took him as an archaeologist, restorer of prehistoric art, and the one who popularised the knowledge about the past of the Polish-Ukrainian borderlands. This is the background against which the author describes Janusz’s personal relations with the Polish Armenians and his contributions to the knowledge about their religious and social history, including especially his participation in debates concerning the renovation of Armenian cathedral in Lvov.
