Summary/Abstract: This article documents letters and postcards written by the South Slav scholar and diplomat Lujo Vojnović to Hermann Bahr, which are archived in the Theater Museum in Vienna. These pieces of writing firmly prove the friendship of the two correspondents as well as fundamental differences in their political attitudes towards the question whether South Slavs belong to the Danube Monarchy or not. The letters additionally reinforce Bahr’s role as a mediator between the Habsburg center and periphery. In addition to that, another point of interest is Vojnović’s influence on Bahr during his work on the text Dalmatinische Reise.
