Summary/Abstract: Today the need for a deeper reflection on the problems of education arises from the need to seek such educational concepts which would be capable of developing and shaping the full personal potential of a young man in a holistic (integral) way. This year's 200th anniversary of the birth of St. John Bosco (1815-1888), a great 19th century educator and developer of the original system of preventive education, becomes an opportunity to introduce his original pedagogical thought. This article leads us to understand Father John Bosco's pedagogical activity which is based on the assumption of integral education of the young. It also shows modern educators that St. John Bosco and his preventive system of education can still inspire us to discover new perspectives in the field of education of the young generation.
