Summary/Abstract: The concept of local development is variously interpreted from a country toan other one. In Africa, this notion appears rather as a concrete answer to the bankruptcy ofthe economic models of development been imperative by certain western countries. Gold,the local development should more take root in endogenous models which allow to think of itin connection with our realities socioeconomic. The use (custom) and the practice of thelocal development in Cameroon shows us this reality which translates an africanisation ofthis concept in a country considered as: “Africa in miniature”. The present contribution hasfor objective to present the diverse facets of the use (custom) of this notion in this country ofCentral Africa.
