Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the results of the Polish Childcare Act concerning children less than 3 years of age which has been in force for the five years. The goal of this legislation was to create the conditions conducive to the growth of more diverse forms of daycare for children, improve the standards of the relevant institutions and support parents in their procreative plans, raising children and enabling them to start or continue their professional careers at the same time. The primary purpose of this article is to assess the results of the Act in the years 2011–2014 in light of the data from the relevant reports of the Council of Ministers and Central Statistical Office (GUS).
