Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to present the problem of genre structure of texts, which are parts of the computer-mediated communication. At the beginning of the article some characteristics of the concept of genre are discussed. Nowadays most of the traditional genres have existed in Internet as well. However, text-based Computer-mediated Communication (CMC) also has its own genre structure. Genres in CMC may be synchronous or asynchronous; monological or dialogical; topic-centred or person-centred; personal or public, etc. These days the so called social networks become very popular, integrating many other genres. At the same time the specifics of genres are preserved.
