Summary/Abstract: All of us wish for our children to grow up to become good, wise people. This means that kindergarten and/or school ought surely to place a stronger emphasis than in the past on introducing children into the world of values – something which is accomplished mainly by providing even the youngest with standards of good behavior, and by applying various methods such as are frequently presented in the literature concerning educational theory. This article presents a proposal for using storyline as part of this process. According to this method, the basis for providing a focus for the children’s activity is a story that is told to them. Such a story is narrated in stages; eventually, the entire project consists of a few episodes. The first episode should constitute an introduction to the subject for the children, anchoring their attention and inspiring them as well; middle episodes, meanwhile, should show the progress of the events that have already started to unfold in a colorful way, while the final episode should ultimately provide the children with a satisfying resolution. After distinguishing the respective episodes, the teacher formulates crucial questions, and programs some situations to motivate the children in various areas of their functioning – e.g. those pertaining to moral, mental, and artistic education, and to locomotive skills. Storyline is a stimulating method in which kids become active researchers and knowledge makers, which will eventually ensure greater self-reliance and responsibility on their part when it comes to gaining knowledge and seeking creative solutions. The article includes a proposal for a cycle of activities aimed at educating with a view to instilling tolerance. In today’s world, full of so many divisions and differences, tolerance is, after all, surely a value that merits special attention.
