Summary/Abstract: Responsibility has been a priority objective of education, as it was in the case of the 2nd Polish Republic and is now. Freedom, consciousness of one’s own actions, understanding of the hierarchy of values will constitute the prerequisites for its existence. According to the investigations, children as young as few-year-old may be held responsible in line with their development. In the ontogenesis, formal responsibility goes before subjective one. While shaping the attitude of responsibility, it is important to create conditions for children to act unassisted.
