Summary/Abstract: The Social activity in the third sector exemplified with the Szczecin association 'Rowność na Fali'The author concentrates on the social activity in the third sector, analysing the Szczecinassociation 'Rowność na Fali", a local organisation, which acts against the discriminationof the sexual minorities in the West Pomeranian Voivodship.The proposed thesis of the article is that the rights of the sexual minorities provokestrong emotions and controversy, which makes it difficult for the NGOs to function, butat the same time the XGOs themselves become indispensable.The article raises the context of the postulates expressed by a local organisationwith reference to the nationwide postulates of the LGBT community. The objective ofthe article was to find connections between the NGO's activity and the political actionundertaken by its members. Thus the analysis of the association has included its relationswith the political sphere.
