On the Relation Between the Dominican Friars and the Episcopate of Hradec Králové in the 17th and 18th Century

Summary/Abstract: This contribution outlines the complex process of regeneration of the Dominican Order in Bohemia during the period of re-Catholisation in the 17th century, with emphasis on its slow progress in eastern Bohemia. It presents the important personage of P. V avřinec K. Brückner OP , and follows the history of his professional connections with the episcopate of Hradec Králové, where since 1738 he worked as advisor.
