Summary/Abstract: The article aims at analyzing the way in which the temporal dimension is modified by stimuli in two of the plays belonging to Mihail Sebastian, namely Steaua fără nume (The Nameless Star) and Jocul de-a vacanţa (Playing at Holidays). Emerging from the characters’ desire to escape, as a direct result of their incapacity to adjust to a hostile environment, the shift produced by the two axes of existence, that of time and that of space, leads to the birth of parabolic movements, situated far from the conventional linearity. Under the pressure of imagination, time dilates, its barriers become blurred leading to its dilution and even to its complete deletion.
