Summary/Abstract: The representatives of the so-called ` Târgovişte Group` ( the Târgovişte trend ) , unaware at the time they conceived their work of the enormous impact this would later have, are considered to be the predecessors of the Romanian postmodernism. These writers are the authors of a peculiar type of literature, very modern under the surface of a pure realistic type of work. Radu Petrescu, Mircea Horia Simionescu and Costache Olǎreanu imposed the features, the modality and the rhythm of the new movement without any intention of setting a certain direction or teaching.. Hard to label and controversial, their books still arise critics’ interest, proving still able to provide new angles for the analyses.
