Summary/Abstract: Extraordinary circumstances are in Bosnia and Herzegovina common occurrence, consequences of which are suffering enormously large amount of cultural property including the archives and current records. Hence the establishment of a uniform system of protection of archival and current records in the area of Bosnia and Herzegovina imposes a pressing need. However, administratively fragmented space of the state in several administrative levels (state, entities, cantons, Brcko District) limits and makes it difficult, and in due time and prevented, such a possibility. Such a situation could, and should, fix a professional persistence and determination of archivists and archives, so that within the framework of archival activities of Bosnia and Herzegovina prepare normative and other preconditions, and later as the most appropriate professional archival solutions put before the appropriate levels of government. For archival profession this would be of great importance, because it is empirically and theoretically committed errors could in future, in part or entirely prevent. Ultimately, this means that, in the current legal framework, without waiting for new regulations, archives and registries should urgently to draw up appropriate normative acts (such as the Rules or the Action Plan) on protection and rescue of their own holdings in extraordinary circumstances, that would, if possible , ensure approval of its founders. For the state and society, and for their international reputation, it would be appropriate and justified by multiple solution, something along the lines of the European integration, and could result in their active approach to a comprehensive solution of this extremely important issue.
