The risk of obtaining medical contracts

Summary/Abstract: Healthcare entities, particularly hospitals, receive more than 90% of revenue from the contract with the National Health Fund (NFZ). Low diversification of revenue sources causes that medical activities are connected with high operational risk. Changes in the contracts result from the negotiations with the payer. The aim of this study is to show the changes in the amount of received contracts for health services in the field of cardiology in Pomerania. The study concerns medical entities performing cardiology service − hospitalization in the years 2010-2013. The dynamics of the amount received by the medical entities is analyzed.
