Summary/Abstract: Before 1999 healthcare in Poland was financed by central budged. After the healthcare reform in the year 1999 it has been financed by National Health Fund, central budged and local governments. The share of healthcare expenditures in the total expenditures of public finance sector has not changed − it is still between 13-15%. The structure of healthcare expenditures in the years 1991-2012 has been investigated. The healthcare expenditures structure is unfavourable. Over 40% of public expenditure finances hospital care and only about 20% of outpatient healthcare.
