Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the two major characteristics of the phraseological units, semantically based on animals, namely the anthropocentrism and the negative emotional coloring. The quantitative approach is broadly used within the investigation, thus showing both the similarities and the differences in respect to the two analyzed language systems.
