Summary/Abstract: The present paper, - based on the documents from the Romanian and Colombian archives, as well as on the press in the two states-, presents the Romanian diplomats activity in Colombia: ambassadors Dumitru Moianu and Gheorghe Dobra, as well as economic counsellors V. Steriopol and D. Berzovan. In the same time, the paper deals with the first visit paid by a president of an European communist party in Latin America, meaning president of Romania, Nicolae Ceauşescu, in Colombia. This visit opened a free way to the bilateral contacts between the two countries, in many fields of activity.
