Sanctions as a volitional means of impact on states infringing international order

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of article is to show the importance of economic sanctions as a restoration tool of international order. The author defines sanctions, lists their types and analyzes scientific literature on this instrument of international law. In the article there are examples of use of sanctions and their effectiveness evaluation. The last part is an attempt of assessing a restriction imposed on Russian Federation through the prism of the theory and practice of economic sanctions.
