Summary/Abstract: Globalisation processes lead to many changes in socio-economic countries’ development. One of them is transfer of the capital between countries. Enterprises more and more often decide to start their activities abroad or just to remove there, usually to minimize their costs. There are various reasons why this could happen. One of them may be specific “pollution transfer” – flows of the production to developing countries, where environmental regulations are less strict than in developed ones. If environmental law is lax intentionally to attract foreign investment, such countries are known as pollution havens. The article is an attempt to systematise knowledge concerning pollution haven hypothesis and other related questions.
