Career in an international enterprise. Diagnosis of practices in polish organizations developing international activity

Summary/Abstract: Within the current discourse on contemporary careers and the context of inter- national assignment this paper seeks the answer to the question about the ways in which the process of management of individual careers in an international organization is established. Research conducted in 50 Polish firms operating in international environment has shown the most frequent practices in shaping individual career of expatriates. Additionally, the paper is the first attempt to introduce the model of “structure – culture – context” to the analysis of expatriates’ career.
