Summary/Abstract: The main goal of the paper is to validate the conception of setting managerial capital apart from the total human capital of a company. The article is of a theoretical character. As an introduction some general theoretical research findings are presented, including conceptual perception of organization’s human capital and considering human resources as strategic investment capital. Next, two main approaches to defining human capital of an organization are briefly discussed and the author’s solution in this scope is proposed as well. Moreover, the author specifies a division of human capital into general (generic) and specific. Next, in the main core of interest is managerial staff considered both as a subject performing some actions and as a subject of actions performed by others within strategic human resources management. This makes the starting point for setting managerial capital apart from the total human capital which is at the company’s disposal and which may become a source of this company’s competitive advantage. The attention is paid here to general and specific managerial qualifications and to the managerial capability of making good use of these qualifications. The final summary and conclusions make the last part of the article. They refer to the purposefulness of making managerial capital a separate component of organizational human capital.
