Summary/Abstract: The article is a philological study of Bolesław Leśmian’s Klechdy polskie. This aspect has not yet been addressed due to the lack of source material. The archival material recently discovered allows for a revisit of the current state of scholarship on that particular work. It proves that our knowledge of Klechdy polskie has been based on a non-authentic script taped by Jan Brzechwa on the request of Zofia Leśmianowa. The author of the article attempts also at reconstructing the fate of poet’s lost manuscripts which came from the file taken away from Poland in 1944 by Leśmian’s wife and daughter. There is hope for regaining the materials.
