Pragmatic Markers in Spoken Bulgarian

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the use of some pragmatic markers in spoken Bulgarian – ami, ama, nali, znachi, taka. Conclusions are based on data from two types of communication – formal academic and informal communication. The analysis shows that pragmatic markers are characteristic to both formal and informal communication. While ami, ama and znachi are used in all contexts, pragmatic markers like nali and taka tend to appear mainly in formal communication.
