Summary/Abstract: Certified according to ISO9001 organization should improve the effectiveness of the quality management system by using available tools. Continuous demand for improvement in the ever-developing work environment means that today more emphasis is placed on the Quality Management System. In order to gain competitive advantage, companies need to adhere to changing external and internal conditions and alter their long-term actions accordingly. It is therefore paramount for any successful company to regularly develop, improve and train their staff. Ongoing self-improvement processes, based on impartially gathered data, are an integral part of any Quality Management System. The most common tools used in assessing the conditions of the company are: management supervision, audit, customer satisfaction survey and self-assessment. Their effective use may determine faults, over-spending and excess costs. In this article, I will focus on the Volvo Truck Dealership in Szczecin and consider the results of their Organizational Self-assessment Questionnaire, that meets the Polish Quality Award standards, and present current condition and other aspects of the company.
