Summary/Abstract: Nowadays modern aviation industry is experiencing visible change of paradigm of development. It corresponds to the concept of sustainable development, and its expression is diagnosed on focusing on creating eco-innovative solutions. The study used PEST analysis and in-depth interview with one of the creators of development in the aviation industry in Poland. Primary research has been preceded by an analysis of key industry development, as well as strategic European documents, on national and regional level. Aerospace, mainly grouped in Aviation Valley cluster, is a sector of high technology, which effectively implements many elements of the world policy in this field in Poland, and which level of development does not differ from the high global standards. Described in the paper operating conditions and trends in the development of the aviation industry are mainly related to the need of protection of the Earth’s atmosphere, enhancing flight safety and reduction of the negative impact of emissions and noise on the environment.
