Summary/Abstract: The article speaks about work of Marijan Šunjić, one of prominent Franciscans from Silver Bosnia in the 19th century, as an extraordinary contribution to the Croatian national- revival movement in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in the linguistic area. It deals with Šunjić’s linguistic solutions (alphabet, orthography, vocals, consonants, stresses), in which he had Gaj’s support. In the end it discusses characteristics of the language which he used.
