Summary/Abstract: The paper summarizes the results of a survey concerning the conditions of social services in the information society. The survey, long overdue, was commissioned by the association “For you, with you” and conducted by the Infonia Foundation in the spring of the year 2006. According to the authors, social service providers also utilize novel information and communication technologies. Besides detailed exploration of the availability and actual use of technological devices and infrastructure, the research encompassed the attitudes of service providers toward ICT as well. The organizations examined willingly participated in info-communication development programs and were ready to initiate such programs, too. Social workers were surprisingly ready to employ the new tools and willingly participated in training programs in this field.
