Summary/Abstract: The paper considers the effects of globalization on visual arts. It offers proofs on international trade of culture objects, which is the grounds for investigation of ideas on “media imperialism” and estimation of statements on the influence of “the West” on “the rest of the world”. The paper considers the movements of the works of popular and fine arts from industrialized nations towards developing countries, among the countries which are in the process of development and from the developing countries to the West, as well as the theories on the relations between global and local.
