Summary/Abstract: The article raises the problem of future teachers' cultural and spiritual education. These are the tasks, formulated in state documents. Future teachers' attitude towards art subjects as the components of the university's educational system is being analyzed in this aspect. The authors of the article discuss the plan of studies, the relation of art subjects with oilier subjects, students' attitude towards these subjects and studying them. For this reason the respondents, chosen for the research, come from different specialities of the Faculty of Education, Siauliai University. The research has revealed the influence of artistic education on the students' culture and demonstrated an increasing interest in art subjects in the later years of studies. On the other hand, not all students equally value the importance of art subjects for self-education. Thus, it is topical to improve the system of artistic education at the university. The results show that the reserve for improving this system exists — teaching of art subjects and study environment have to be adjusted. The carried out research demonstrated that the system of artistic education, which can influence (and influences) spirituality of future teachers, exists at the university. Moreover, it influences the amendment of general spirituality system at the university. That is why a person's interest in art subjects as well as his changing can serve as a parameter evaluating the development of future teachers' spirituality and harmonizing artistic and spiritual education parallels in the university's educational system. This reveals possibilities to optimize the process of studies and solve future teachers' spirituality and cultural education tasks, raised by the state, based on the university's educational system.
