Socio-Demographic Factors Used to Estimate Conditions of Life on Bulgarian Prisoners

Summary/Abstract: This article is based on a research that has been caried out in 1994 the Institute of Demography. The author presents some results of this research that give the pensioners' subjective estimate of their conditions of life in the state. These include: a statement of today's and tomorrow's day of the pensioners; an estimate of living and material conditions; an estimate of the pension system; every day care for elder people; us-age of social acquirements. The article gives an assessment of the impact or basic objective social and demographic characteristics of the examined persons on the basis of these estimates. The research of factorial dependencies is done by applying the statistical Hi-sqaure test. The strength of the dependency between factors and estimates is measured by the coefficient of Cramer.
