Summary/Abstract: The article shows the perspectives of LEADER axis functioning in the new programming period 2014-2020. The conclusions and recommendations for the future are presented on the basis of Local Action Groups operating in Warminsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship. To sum up the preliminary insights in the present programming period, it has to be underlined that Local Action Groups has a potentially great impact on rural development. The changes in the new programming period should not regard the ones of system character, but mainly of organizing. The main feature of LEADER approach seems to be just, and the main problem is their proper implementation.
