Summary/Abstract: This research is centered on the defi nition and conceptualisation of Bioethics as a recently invented discipline and as a new science. The term combines two concepts: life and ethics, as two merged points of views in the understanding of the value of human life. Bioethics supervises and ethically weighs the consequences of the interventions of medicine upon human body, from a moral stance, considering that any medical act has an eff ect on the entire human being. Supported by the embryo stage to assisted suicide, many of these acts reduce humanity to a mere „biomedical material”: a manipulated, enhanced, modifi ed humanity. In my research work, I started from a definition of Bioethics and continued with a short history of this discipline, its implications with medicine and medicine philosophy.
