Summary/Abstract: During the twentieth century, the concept of Eucharistic ecclesiology and its more or less accurate counterparts have been continuously very important for both eastern and western theological and spiritual renewal. In Orthodox Church, liturgy is considered as core of its living Tradition, source and criterion of its spirituality and canonical principles. Nevertheless, too oft en there exists a deep chasm between these principles and our ecclesial practice. This chasm may be defi ned as a kind of passivity in our relation to our own identity. I believe that this passivity is the real source of all problems that our Church has to solve in order to renew its missionary activity.
