Summary/Abstract: This article explores the influence of the will on moral acting of human being according to St. Anselm of Canterbury. Human will’s influence on moral acting can be seen in the structure of the human soul, which consists in precisely cooperating of will and reason and in God’s order mirrored in the structure of human being created by Him. Human will depends on reason, which is expressed in such expressions like liberum arbitrium (free will) or libertas arbitrii (freedom of choices) and desires for good pointed out by reason. Another dimension of the will’s influence on moral acting is mirrored in the inclinations of the will for happiness and justice. Human will ought to keep the rectitude (justice) in its desire for happiness (good), because God endowed human will with its inclination to keep justice, which means to cooperation with reason in seeking the true good. Human will’s influence on moral acting can be noticed in freedom. Human will is free because it possesses the power of autonomous choice, namely the ability of choose between the alternatives. Human being would not be morally responsible, if God had not given the man the freedom of the will. The influence of the will on man’s moral acting allows to see the most important feature of the morality. Human being’s morality has the theological- -anthropological character, because God’s moral order is mirrored in the structure of human soul.
