Summary/Abstract: The article presents the outline of the history of the Redemptorist Monastery in Zamość, which celebrates its 80th anniversary in the year 2014. The main reason of the foundation of the Redemptorists community in Zamość it was both the need of limiting and preventing the growing influence of the Polish National Church. Since the very beginning their pastoral ministry was noticeably marked by sanctity of their religious life and their apostolic zeal. They were devoted to the preaching of abundant redemption to the poor, being focused not only on the material aspect of redemption but also on its spiritual dimension. They promoted new forms of devotion to Our Lady of Perpetual Help and the Archconfraternity of St. Alphonsus. In their ministry of preaching the God’s Word they were very successful in reaching out to the marginalized and oppressed working class, especially in the 80s to the people involved with Solidarity movement. The very important part of their ministry were well frequented Eucharistic celebrations and hearing confessions. Till now they still preach numerous parish missions and retreats not only in the Zamość area but also in many other dioceses.
