Summary/Abstract: The article attempts to present the basic features of one possible interpretation of the term nomothetic science of language. it is based on contextualization of several Jakobson’s remarks on the status of linguistics among other sciences. comparative method is trying to formulate a positive (and therefore problematic) theses that could describe the epithet nomothetic in this discourse.
