Summary/Abstract: The introduction of a new structure (territorial self-government) in Poland in 1989 leads to developmental consequences taking place at the same time in two dimensions: social and economic. Local development is a result of local community activities centered around the development project bringing together economic, social and cultural components in a particular territory. Approved solutions are directed toward local autonomy concerning the selection of development projects and funds, which allow to carry out these projects.
