CLASSROOM TRANSLATION AND TRAINING IN PROFESSIONAL TRANSLATION

Summary/Abstract: The research focuses on the aspects of teaching translation to Applied Linguistics students. The question of the role of teaching and the function of both types of translation, didactic and professional, is put both generally and regarding the academic program in particular. The diachronic analysis shows the emergence and development of two types of translation, the differences between them and their particular characteristics. Career prospects in professional translation are also considered and some changes are offered aiming at extending the interdisciplinary education of the students.
