THE METAPHOR IN THE PROVERBIAL SPEECH

Summary/Abstract: The Metaphor in the Proverbial Discourse. In the following article we examine the manifestation of some rhetorical figures, mainly the metaphor, in the proverbial discourse. The angle under which rhetorical figures in general and the metaphor in particular are examined, is rhetoric; the purpose of the analysis of these figures is semantic, because the building of the figure is important for the building of the sense.
