Summary/Abstract: In the work presented a model of human development through the process of learning continue in contemporary society, the period of economic crisis. The objectives of the study are: -researching interrelationships between sustainable community-self susttainability –lifelong learning; -design and validation a model of sustainable human development in contemporary society; Issues tracked in research performed were the following: 1. sustainable community and the socioprofesional profile design of contemporary man 2. the concept of human self sustenaibility (the major criteria for achieving self sustanaiblity through the process of lifelong learning, identification of sustainable development quantification instruments through lifelong learning process) Design of the model of sustainable human development through lifelong learning by setting: o Correlation between contemporary man - contemporary man who learn - contemporary educated man o The contemporary educated man results o The perceived benefits of contemporary educated man o Proposal of best practices related to lifelong learning o Validating model designed The importance of these research contributions in the human resources management is on the actuality of problems addressed, but the fact that it aims at completing the existing theory and the practice on sustainable development of contemporary man.
