Summary/Abstract: The totalitary regime that came to lead in Germany in 1933 tried to control not only the politics but all the domains of the human life, including the personal ones. The changes that took place in the German society on this occasion also influenced education, that was led towards the creation of a national-socialist "new man". At the same time, the science was meant to serve Hitler's goals: racist purification, war and the declaration of German superiority, not only political and military but also economical and scientific. The Third Reich's educational system can be summarized as such: "Führerprinzip"-based organization, the extinction of the educational staff and the politization of the scientific subjects. An important role for the cultural and ideological expansion of the national-socialist regime was played by the foreign students there. They represented both targets and means of the propaganda. Thus, although their number was dramatically reduced after 1933, they spread the national-socialist ideology in a very effective way. Such an example is Emil Cioran who, although a declared non-political before 1933, once he went to study in Germany in 1933, he got closer to the national-socialist regime, sending back home articles that spoke extremely positive about it. Anyway, it is difficult to say whether this came from the regime's successful propaganda policy or from the philosopher's own disappointments regarding the Romanian situation. What is certain is that many Romanian cultured people who studied in the Third Reich were not deaf to Nazi propaganda: Iosif Antochi, Pavel Băbălean, Ernest Bernea, Mircea Dimitriu, Dumitru Dumitrescu, Dionisie Ghermani, Ion Popescu-Zeletin, Călin Popovici, Petru Spacu, Gavril Toma and many others.
